I have had good tamales here. Both their regular tamales and the Oaxacan tamles are good. My favorite is there Oaxacan style tamales. They are delicious. The difference between this style and the regular tamales is that the Oaxacan style are made with banana leaf while the regular ones are in a corn husk. They make a few different varieties of tamales (pork in red sauce, chicken in green sauce, peppers w/ cheese, etc.) but not all kinds are available at all the times. The last few times I have called them for tamales, they have not had Oaxacan tamales. :-(
I like their tacos too. In this recent visit, I had their goat tacos. They were really good. I thought the meat would taste gamy but it didn't. They were the special of the day (on a Sunday) and the taste was on point. Aside from their tacos and tamales, I have only had their nopales quesadilla at Lake County fair which was da bomb.
I like this place and would here again. I am due for another visit as I write this since I haven't had their Oaxacan style tamales in a while. Check them out. -

My husband ordered 4 dozen tamales for me for a graduation party last weekend 8/10. The order was to be picked up on Friday 8/9. My daughter drove from Algonquin to Mundelein to pick these up only to find it CLOSED. She waited over an hour. Nobody showed up. Phone was never answered. We had to scramble to find an alternative. Huge inconvenience. Lots of panic with 70+ due for a party the next day. No call. No follow up. When I called on Tuesday to see if they closed down I was told they do a farmers market on Friday and the lady didn't tell anyone about the order. "Sorry" was all I got and doesn't quite cut it.

This place sucks I went in and did a simple order for a couple tostadas one of them being chicken and shrimp with cilantro on top. It took 25 minutes for my food to come up. While i waited, i sat down at the only open table (restaurant is small) and there was a big mess on the table nobody was cleaning up...... When I got home I was looking for my shrimp tostada and opened up the foil to find just a tostada shell with absolutely nothing on it!!!!! My chicken tostadas did not have any cilantro as I requested and the chicken had absolutely no flavor at all. Why would they wrap up just a tostada shell with nothing on it. Place is run by a bunch of idiots. Waste of money. I will never return.

I love tamales! With this restaurant having a four star rating I book marked it a few years ago. It just so happened my wife and I had errands to run and this was in the right location at the right time.
I ordered three tamales, with rice and beans. What a disappointment! Three very soggy, bland, pork tamales. They were like a wet sock in bland red sauce. The beans and rice were sub par.
My wife had the trio, tamale, taco, quesadilla. She wasn't impressed.
Neither of us finished our plate. Service was poor.

I found this place and so glad I did! Interior is a little sketch and staff is not very friendly but all that aside the tamales are amazing! I have had pork, chicken, cheese and have loved them all! They are fresh! The guacamole is made fresh to order and is sooo good! You can't beat the price I think I bought 16 tamales and guac for 23$ !! I haven't tried anything else here!
